ActionScript 2 Class Library

I just came across this the other day - an ActionScript 2 class library. Most of the classes in there are math related, but it looks like there are ADT's and other good stuff. I'm almost ashamed that I didn't know about this sooner...

To see how to use a class, click on it's "view" link in the datagrid. Clicking on the class name will allow you to download the .as file. The buttons at the bottom will let you download the packages in a .zip file.

Also, the width in the object/embed tags is listed as 70 and everything is a little hard to read in Mozilla-based browsers. When I used IE, it was easier to navigate around.

You can check it out here.

  • Nice job, note to other FireFox users, use IE to view this or the Flash form appears about 20 pixels wide :D

  • re: Firefox -- I had the same problem.. went straight to the swf

  • Hi! Thanks for the kind words, and for the heads-up on the Netscape display.

I haven't had Netscape onboard since Flash 5 and I guess that [width="100%" height="85%"] doesn't work for embed tags. After installing Netscape 7.1, I tried mapping the main app's embed dimensions based on the footer app [820,70] dimensions that I already had in place, and the fact that the .swf is a ratio of 550/400 = [width="820" height="480" align="middle"] .. I'm using 1024x768 resolution.

However, for some reason it stayed aligned to the left screen, so I tried [width="1000",height="480",align="middle"], and it now looks good with my settings, aligned to middle screen. If anyone has further issues with the page display or errata please let me know here or with an email (posted on the page).

If you have visited the page already, cache may prevent a proper view for about 24 hours, so I put up a temporary index here:
    http://members.shaw.ca/flashprogramming/wisASLibrary/wis/index1.html

If you are still using Flash 6 player, there's an AS1 version here:
    http://members.shaw.ca/mathematica/wisASLibrary/

.. or else the auto-refresh page chooses based on your installed player:

The AS2.0 Library is a work in progress .. if the .as file isn't at least v2.0, consider it alpha: it loads to memory without errors, and it may or may not include an example application to test the class methods. There are presently 45 of the 64 assigned classes complete, presented in various states-of-undress.

If the version/update columns are populated, there is a view/download link to the class under the 'viewClass' column. If the test/source columns are populated, there is a test application available for viewing or for download, either individually or within the bundle.

Please notice the links provided in the instuction scroll documenting all of the great open-source developers who have contributed their resources to our community.

    Enjoy!
    Richard
